Ruffle hem crochet lace top

A fitted sleeveless top cut from circular-motif crochet lace, finished with a ruffled peplum hem that falls just past the waist. The mandarin collar sits high at the neck, and a row of hand-knotted buttons runs down the centre front — a closure detail borrowed from traditional tailoring, worked here in a softer, more feminine register.

The body is shaped close through the bust and waist, so the peplum flares cleanly rather than sitting flat. The scalloped edge of the lace is left raw along the ruffle, which gives the hem its movement.
